Perhaps no other issue is more acutely felt by our residents or more personally important to Mayor Breed than the homelessness crisis on our streets.  During her campaign, Mayor Breed released a 3,500 word homelessness platform, outlining the specific challenges we face and her detailed plans to address them.  Her homelessness strategy is threefold: keep people housed; improve mental health, substance use treatment, and street behavior; and create far more exits to stable housing.  Mayor Breed and her team are making substantial progress on all three of these objectives.   

In her first week on the job, Mayor Breed visited a tent encampmenton King St. with homeless outreach workers and the encampment resolution team where they helped seven peopleinto Navigation Centers and off the streets.
